Market Visit Support (MVS) – one of UKTI’s services to small and medium-sized companies who are either new exporters or existing exporters wishing to target new overseas markets
Overseas Market Introduction Scheme (OMIS) – one of UKTI’s services via the British embassies, high commissions and consulates across the world, to help with initial market research, to arranging a market visit, to build contacts and to make introductions and help close deals for British businesses.
Passport to Export (P2E) – UKTI’s flagship service to assess a company’s readiness for international business and mentor programme to help it build international trade capacity
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) – The UK Government’s department to encourage inward investment to the UK and to encourage UK firms to export and grow internationally. Â It provides trade advice and practical support to UK-based companies wishing to grow their business overseas. It has 2,400 staff and a presence in 96 countries worldwide.

Drupal – enterprise level content management system
Geotargeting – targeting your website to visitors in a particular country
Joomla! – a content management system for developing a website
WordPress – a content management system for developing a website
Generic top-level domain name (gTLD) – a non-geographic domain name e.g. .com .biz .eu .asia
Country code top-level domain name (ccTLD) – a local domain for a country e.g. .co.uk or .fr
Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) – registration of domains in other languages and scripts and not in non-Latin alphabet e.g. Chinese, Korean, Russian

Technology terms
Static IP address – same IP address every time a user connects to the internet
Dynamic IP address – IP address changes every time a user connects to the internet
Shared IP address – when more than one computer has the same IP address, usually in an office environment
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) – responsible for domains and IP addresses
Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) – manages IP addresses and allocates blocks of IP addresses to five regional internet registries
Regional internet registries – include APNIC, AFRINIC, ARIN, RIPE and LACNIC

Nameservers – computer server that hosts a website
